IcyCRO - Blog

While we have ICY token, NFT game and many other things, validators are always the centre point of this project.
We have 21.7M CRO of delegations on IcyCRO.org and Obsidian Crypto.org validators.
Growth of 2.9M in one month and 6M in two months.
We launched an updated sentry node to optimize the validator performance. They are already one of the best in Crypto.org, but there is always room to improve.

Farms:

We have two CRO-ICY farms now. Photonswap (https://photonswap.finance/) and Crodex (https://crodex.app/).

Photonswap farm is running for 140 days now. No-one likes changing farms every 28 days and ICY is not supposed to be a too hectic project.
Second CRO-ICY farm opened also to Crodex in early March.
Both farms will award 10k ICY per week in April.
About 60% APR currently.

Single staking ICY:

If you have ICY, but no CRO to pair with, you can use the new ICY mine on Photonswap.

Just stake your free ICY and collect interest. You always get the same ICY back with the interest when you unstake. You are free to claim interest and restake anytime you want.
First single stake mine will be running for 140 days and a new one will start after it.
About 30% APR currently.

Get automated compound interest. Vault automatically sells half your ICY interest once per day and stakes the extra CRO+ICY to collect more interest.
If you wish to use these, you need to remove LP tokens from the normal CRO-ICY farm and add them to the CRO-ICY vault in Crystl.

Balancer:

ICY buybacks continue like before. We use 5-20k CRO per month to buy back ICY when the value is lower than 6.5 ICY per CRO.

ICY VIP Stakes:

We got one stake upgrade. Jade #051 upgraded to a VIP .
#065 stake will be available this month for 50k/100k stakers. Contact us, if anyone is interested about a permanent monthly chance for the Jackpot, 10% APR and other VIP benefits.

Investing Pool

Instead of using temporary income to give one time boost for the Jackpot, CROs will be moved to the Investing Pool and staked or farmed. This will increase our CRO flow to the Jackpot in the long term.

During 2022-2023 all the interest is staked, 2024 we will split it 50-50 with restaking and Jackpot and from 2025 onwards 100% of the interest will go to boost the Jackpot.

Icy Squid Game

Balancer wallet updates

As the point of the Balancer is to keep the CRO-ICY ratio quite stable, it sometimes needs a bit more CROs to do it. Usually 4% of the Jackpot pool goes for the Balancer, but we will boost it in the future, if the value of the ICY goes too low:

If the price of the ICY goes lower than 6.5 ICY per CRO at time of the Jackpot raffle, we will give one time 2x boost to the Balancer (4%=>8%).
If the ratio goes lower than 7 ICY / CRO then the boost is x3 (4%=>12%).

Basically just more buybacks in some special situations to keep the ICY-CRO ratio steady. ICY from the buybacks is used to upgrade the Balancer's jackpot stakes, so this will also give more CROs in the long term for the buybacks.

Investing Pool

Instead of using temporary income to give one time boost for the Jackpot, CROs will be moved to the Investing Pool and staked. This will increase our CRO flow to the Jackpot in the long term.

This will apply for the NFT sales, royalties and other temporary income.

During 2022 all the interest is staked, 2023-2024 we split it 50-50 with restaking and Jackpot and from 2025 onwards 100% of the interest will go to boost the Jackpot.

Current situation in Crypto.org

In the last weeks the traffic in Crypto.org has increased a lot and some of the lower quality validators can't keep up anymore. We have seen validators been in jail for 10+ days and some miss thousands of blocks each day.

There is now room to boost one quality validator to the top100.

This is our last validator event in Crypto.org and we will see expansion possibilities in other Cosmos chains after this.

Prizes pool

Validator event starts today at 12.00 GMT and ends 24 hours later.

Snapshot of top delegators will be taken at 12.00 GMT on 26th of January. If you are one of the top100 biggest delegators then, you may win huge prizes.

Jackpot game updates

As much of our Jackpol pool is kept 50-50 on CRO and ICY in the liquidity pool, it makes things easier, if we pay the prizes also 50-50 in CRO and ICY. This also allows us to increase the prizes.

29.12.2021 - Burnicy #4, ICY burn and tokenomics.

Burnicy #4

In this Burnicy event 11,038,370 ICY (over 1M USD) was burned and 2.1k ICY was airdropped to a winner, who has been informed already.

Special ICY burn, 11M ICY was added to the Burnicy (11% of the total supply).

As our projects and games go forward, it's easier for us to know how much ICY is needed to reach our goals. Also as CRO value is much higher than it was couple of months ago, we need much less ICYs than we expected.

When we have more ICY unlocked than is needed for the events/projects/promotions, we will burn these ICYs in special Burnicy events 1-2 times per year.

16.12.2021 - First CRO Jackpot and Burnicy #3 and future events.

Our first CRO Jackpot was on 15th of December at 19.00 GMT. Jackpot pool was 400k CROs at the moment.

Winning number was 992 and no-one won the main jackpot, but six people won 8k CRO + 8k ICY.

In Burnicy 198.1k ICY was burned and 215k ICY was airdropped to the winners.

Next Burnicy

We will have one event on 29th of December. No extra promotions, but one last chance to collect enough ICY for staking.

Limit on amount of stakes is set to 100.

Currently there are 58 stakes and total of 5.3M ICY is staked for two years.

We have now locked the maximum amount of stakes / tickets to 100 and then new tickets won't be available before December 2022.

If you wish to have a chance for the CRO Jackpots, you can stake 25k ICY to get an Icy Ruby ticket and get yourself one of 100 ticket numbers. You can later increase the stake to 50k or 100k.

12.12.2021 - Changes to staking, CRO Jackpots and sticky token on 17th of December

Our first CRO Jackpot will be on 15th of December at 19.00 GMT. Jackpot pool is about 370k CROs at the moment.

After this we will make some changes on 17th of December.

Limit on amount of stakes

Currently there are 50 stakes and 4.75M ICY staked.

We will lock the maximum amount of stakes to for example 100 and after 100 is full, staking won't be possible until it is reopened again. It may happen in November of 2022 or later. This allows us to make long term plans for the CRO Jackpot game easier.

If you wish to have a chance for the CRO Jackpots, you can stake 25k ICY to get an Icy Ruby ticket and get yourself one of 100 ticket numbers. You can later increase the stake to 50k or 100k.

Sticky token and Balancer wallet

Keeping CRO-ICY price at 1:6 or higher needs a steady stream of CROs to the Balancer wallet. We have some new plans for this:

We change the Jackpot structure and every month 2% of the pool goes to Balancer wallet for ICY purchases.
When Balancer buys ICYs from the market and has collected at least 100k ICY, it will start investing them in Icy VIP level tickets. If one of the tickets wins, Balancer wallet will get more CROs for ICY purchases.
In late January we will publish an NFT game with one of the most popular NFT artists on Cronos. 10% of the NFT sales will go to the Balancer wallet.

10.12.2021 - Community Booster #4 completed and other updates

We have been busy lately and a lot of things have been happening.

Crypto.org Chain Mainnet : Phase 2: Draco II Network Update was on 7.12.

All our servers were updated in less than 10 minutes and we had to wait 60 minutes more after that until CDC and others got their servers updated (they have a bit slower ones).

0 missed blocks and all went smoothly even if it was at 3AM Finnish time.

Community Booster #4 - Greennode and Satay Stakers

As 10 validators got jailed during the upgrade as they forgot to update their servers, two community validators tried to fight their way to the top100 list.

In the beginning we gave a 50k CRO support delegation for both, Satay Stakers and Greennode.

On the next day only Greennode was left as Satay Stakers couldn't collect enough delegations and we organized a small community booster for Greennode and they went from 400k CRO to 1.5M CRO and survived.

96.2k ICYs were credited to the people who participated in this event.

We also launched our first farm on 7th of December. Currently you can get about 200% APY in ICY from farming.

This is the last Burnicy before 15th of December, so you have chance to test your luck and see, if you can collect enough ICYs for staking and for the free entry for the CRO Jackpot raffle.

We have some changes since made since the first Burnicy event:

100 ICY option was added. Burn 100 ICY and you may get airdrop of 100k ICY.
500 ICY burn has chance for 100k ICY airdrop also.
Two closest misses will get airdrop of 2x their burn tx amount. If the winning number is 555, then 544 and 546 would be the closest numbers.

28.11.2021 - New staking levels and benefits

Originally we had only two staking levels 500k and 100k, but as CRO and ICY values went up so much in the last few weeks, we will add two new levels to make it easier for everyone to reach some of the staking levels. New levels are Icy Jade and Icy Ruby.

Our first new VIP benefit is 10-20% CRO cashback from Jeffreyrentals.com. Starting from February 2022.

We also added 5-10% APR interest for the higher levels. This is paid in a lump sum after the staking period is full (2 years).

Please note that you can combine different levels. 125k ICY staked for example would give you one Icy VIP ticket (100k ICY) and Icy Ruby ticket (25k ICY).

19.11.2021 - IcyCRO.org - Governance Proposal #1 - Sticky token and Jackpot rules

Our first governance proposal voting starts at noon (12.00) UTC on 19.11.2021.

Everyone with 100k ICY staked gets to vote. Each 100k staked = one vote.

4.3M ICY staked total, so voting ends when one option gets 22 votes (or which option gets more votes in 12 hours).

Sticky Token

Most people know what a stable coin is (USDC, USDT...), but very few people have heard about sticky tokens. This is because ICY will be the first (AFAIK).

For many clear reasons ICY's value will follow CRO quite closely:

- Only trading pair is ICY-CRO.

- This is the community token of CRO and most of the projects are CRO related.

- Our Jackpot Pool is stored as CRO and awarded as CRO.

To make the ICY-CRO pair even more tight, to avoid excessive volatility and to improve liquidity we are introducing the sticky token protocol:

- Market will decide the ICY value, but if it tries to go too far, purchases from the Balancer Pool will try to push it back to the trading range.

- Starting value of the Balancer Pool(s) is about 50k CRO and 500k ICY, but will be increased to 300k CRO and 5M ICY.

- If the Balancer pool(s) will go over 300k CRO or 5M ICY, extra CRO will go to the Jackpot Pool or extra ICY will be burned

- If ICY value goes over 2 ICY = 1 CRO, Balancer Pool starts buying CRO from the market.

- If ICY value goes under 6 ICY = 1 CRO, Balancer Pool starts buying ICY from the market.

- If proposal goes through, it doesn't guarantee that ICY's value stays always between 2-6 ICY per 1 CRO, but it will make it very sticky.

- Bracket can be changed in the future with a new governance proposal.

Jackpot Pool - One ticket per month in social media.

- Ticket number 777 is given for free each month on social media competitions.

- Each month we organize up to 10 smaller social competitions with ICY prizes.

- Winner of each small competition gets also one ticket for a raffle where they have at least 1/10 chance to win the 777 ticket for one month.

Jackpot Pool structure

- Jackpot Pool is divided into two different places: IcyCRO-org validators' wallets (IcyCRO.org and Obsidian) and in PhotonSwap liquidity pool for ICY-CRO pair. Other dexes may be added in the future.

- 60-90% of the Jackpot Pool will be kept on wallets of IcyCRO.org validators in Crypto.org (Obsidian and IcyCRO) where they earn 12-15% APR.

- 10-40% of the Jackpot Pool will be kept in PhotonSwap's ICR-CRO liquidity pool and this is usually used to pay the monthly winners.

- When part of the Jackpot is won, the required amount CRO+ICY from the Jackpot Pool is removed from the pool, is converted to CRO on market and sent to the winners.

17.11.2021 - CRO Community Competition #1 - Who we are - 30k ICY prizes (~$1500)

Many of you have known me, Zanglang and Erik for a long time. Since Cronos was launched, a lot of new people have joined and we have got many questions about what we do and why.

To keep the introduction short, we have a small competition for Reddit, Twitter and Telegram:

1. Post a funny or interesting picture to this thread in the next 60 hours. Can be photo, drawing, meme or something else.

2. At 23.00 UTC on Friday this competition ends and we choose the best three.
